Garry's repertoire, in combination with the band's Americana tunes, should provide a unique evening of dance for everyone.
April 7th Contrdance
We're hoping that spring will be here for our contradance on Friday April
7th.. Music will
be by Tom Wadsworth and Ed Lowman and the caller will be Garry Aney.
Guitarist
Tom Wadsworth has been playing dances since his twenties,
appearing throughout the Hudson River Valley, Capitol, Catskill and
Adirondack regions. He is the lead member of several bands including
his own Skeleton Band and also plays mandolin, tin whistle, and
uilleann pipes.
Wadsworth will be joined
by Ed Lowman on fiddle. As a long-time musician, Lowman is also an
accomplished bass, guitar, and mandolin player who sings lead and
backing vocals as well.
Garry Aney, a frequent
caller at our dances, combines his love of historical interpretation with modern influences, creating an interesting balance of contemporary and traditional contradances. He
calls dances from as far back as the Revolutionary War era, and as
up-to-date as modern twenty-first century dances.
Garry's repertoire, in combination with the band's Americana tunes, should provide a unique evening of dance for everyone.

The dance begins at 7:30, but if you're a beginner, you can come at 7:15 when we'll have a short introduction to some basic contradance steps.
Hope to see you on the 7th!
