Our May contradance will be held at a different venue...the Farmers' Market on Main Street in Cooperstown. This is a one-time change, due to a conflict at the Church.
The music this month will be by Syracuse fiddler Eileen Nicholson (Kalfass) and pianist John Wobus.
They are both well-known NY musicians and members of several area bands. They will be coming together for our dance, bringing a repertoire of tunes from New England, Scotland, Ireland, Quebec and beyond!
Our caller will be Hilton Baxter. Hilton has been calling for almost 20 years, shortly after forming Contradance in Binghamton (now the Binghamton Community Dance). He has appeared at many dances along the east coast, where his calm and easy-going style makes the dance easy for beginners and fun for veteran dancers.
Dancing begins at 7:30 but we will give instructions for some basic steps at 7:15.
The Farmers' Market is at 101 Main Street and there is plenty of free parking in Doubleday Field.
Look for our signs to the entrance of the Market.
