Our February dance will have music by Erik House and Friends, with Peter Blue calling.
Erik
House is a long-time fiddle player from East Springfield, whose
repertoire focuses mainly on Old Time and Quebecois tunes. He is
joined by Kathy Shimberg, a life-long musician who plays piano as
well as a number of different instruments in a variety of styles.
Rounding out the trio is Tom White who also plays several instruments
including fiddle, mandolin, guitar and sometimes whistle.
Each of
these three have been playing with many different bands for dances,
concerts and other performances. But they come together for our
dances to share their years of experience in contradancing and love
of traditional music.
Peter
Blue is
well known throughout New York and New England as a musician, caller,
dance organizer and composer of music and modern contradances. As a
caller, his easy-going style and sense of humor always make for an
evening full of fun and surprises.
It's Ground Hog Day, so we'll know how much longer this winter will last.
But come on over regardless and enjoy the great music and fun of contradancing!
