The fall season will start on Friday September 7th at the Presbyterian Church (corner of Pioneer St and Church St). Pam Goddard will be calling and the band will be Ms Marty & SGB.
Pam has had a lifelong interest in traditional music and dance and, since 2000, has focused fulltime on her career as both a dance caller and folk singer. As a favorite caller from Ithaca, she is known for her clear, concise teaching style, her feel for matching the music and the movement, her good humor and her way of getting everyone interacting.
Ms. Marty Blodgett and her “Smokin' Good Band” have been playing in central New York and beyond for 9 years and always provide an evening of lively fun! Steve Ellner and Marty Blodgett swing the melodies on accordion and fiddle. Jess Youngquest rocks the rhythm with his guitar, and adds vocals and harmonica. Besides their great fiddling tunes, their fun-loving style includes rags, swing tunes, and vocals. Many remember them as the band that does "It's a Sin to Tell a Lie", "Sweet Georgia Brown", and more!
I watched the dancing from the doorway, looks like great fun. Will dance next time...when is the next time?
